90 Day LDR Challenge: Day 24

Day 24: What are both your dream careers?

Cat: Ultimately, I would love to be an entrepreneur. Along the way, I would love to be a corporate communications c-level executive but that is way down the road! I would also love to be a writer… There are so many avenues I want to pursue. You only get one shot at life, and I want to make the best of mine!

Richard: I’m hoping to work my way up the corporate HR ladder in a multinational company. And I’m confident Cat will be THE communication professional in the USA and it’s just a matter of time!

Cat: *blushes again* Thanks for believing in me, babe. I know you’re going to make the HR world a better place not only with your talent but also with your personality!

Richard: Aww, shucks! 🙂

90 Day LDR Challenge: Day 23

Day 23: What is your favorite memory together?

Cat: One of my favorite memories with Richard is going to the Christmas market for the first time with him in Manchester. I had never been to a Christmas market before, and I felt like our relationship was really blossoming into something quite serious at that point. It was a really special Christmas. 🙂

Richard: Hmmm, that’s a difficult one. I think the first time we visited London together and stayed in Grosvenor House on Park Lane. We had a really nice time and personally made me realise that me and Cat are in it for the long haul and a good life was on the horizon.

90 Day LDR Challenge: Day 22

Day 22: What do you think are important qualities for two people to have in a long distance relationship?

Cat: I think honesty is one of the most important qualities for two people in a LDR. I think there are a lot of emotional obstacles that come along with the greatest physical obstacle (distance), and if you can’t be honest with yourself and your partner about how you feel every step of the way or how you envision your future when you close the distance… I can only imagine that it would be incredibly difficult… And I’m not going to lie: It’s scary to be honest sometimes! Maybe you don’t want to ruin a good week or your love bubble, and trust me, I get that! But I think being honest with yourself and your partner will only help you in the long run.

Richard: Communication is very important. I find we do well, as we speak every day but in a way where we get on with our own lives. We don’t make each other feel bad if we aren’t able to Skype or if we’re busy etc.

90 Day LDR Challenge: Day 21

Day 21: If you haven’t met yet, what’s the first thing you’re going to do together? If you have met, what’s the first thing you’ll do when you see him/her again?

Cat: After almost 8 months of not seeing him, I’m going to give him a huge hug and a big kiss! Is it September yet? Haha!

Richard: I imagine a long kiss! I’m not sure what our plan is after the airport, but I imagine we will have dinner with Cat’s mum and have a nice catch up.

90 Day LDR Challenge: Day 19

Day 19: Have you ever given them something of yours? What was it?

Cat: I gave Richard my stuffed animal otter when I traveled back home in January…

Richard: When Cat flew back to the US in January we swapped a fragrance of ours so we can remember what we smell like. I also have one of her otters haha.

90 Day LDR Challenge: Day 18

Day 18: If you started your relationship online and then met, what is one thing you noticed that was different that you hadn’t noticed before you met? If you started in person, what is one thing you always forget they do when you’re apart?

Cat: I didn’t realize how tall Richard was going to be, haha! I mean, I’m pretty sure he listed his height on his page, but I just didn’t think he was going to be as tall as he was. That might sound super weird, but that’s my honest answer, haha!

Richard: Hmmmm, it was quite a while ago actually! All I can say was that I was taken aback at how beautiful she was when I saw her in person.

Cat: *blushes*

90 Day LDR Challenge: Day 17

Day 17: Have you ever watched a movie together? Which one(s)? Which ones would you like to watch together?

Cat: Yes! We’ve watched a lot of movies together:!the entire Harry Potter collection (Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 at least 5 times – Richard was such a good boyfriend to sit through all the replays of that, haha!), Filth, The Campaign, Foxcatcher…

I can’t wait to watch Get Hard with Richard. He’s going to laugh so hard!

Richard: Yes lots! Too many to mention really but Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Zoolander, The Campaign and lots of other comedy films. We also watched a lot of musicals on film. Definitely a benefit of having lived together.

90 Day LDR Challenge: Day 16

Day 16: Name something your partner dislikes about themselves but you love!

Cat: Okay, guys, I’m not going to lie to you: This prompt really stumped Richard and I! We actually had no idea how to answer this one… I guess I’ll just say this: Richard really is one of the most confident people I know, and I think it’s because he had to overcome a lot of adversity at a really young age. We both have that in common. While it hit me hard in my teenage years, especially when it came to body image issues, Richard went the other way. After overcoming everything, he took all that negativity and transformed it into positivity. It wasn’t overnight, and he hit some hard times. But at the end of it all, he became the strong, confident person he is today. So, because of that, I think there’s very little room in Richard’s mind to hate or dislike things about himself. And I love him for that. 🙂
